Jeollabuk-do announced on the 4th of this month that it had held an online friendship Baduk(GO) competitions with Jiangsu, Shanghai, Shandong and Yuunan provinces, which are Chinese sister&friendly regions.

The competition, which was held for two days on the 2nd and 3rd of this month, was designed to promote friendship with four sister-friendly regions of China on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Year of Korea-China Cultural Exchange for diplomatic relationship between South Korea and China.

The competition was conducted in a team-to-team tournament and 35 players with at least 3D, seven from each region (five including Jeollabuk-do and Chinese provinces) participated in the competition to compete for their abilities.

Participating players said,

“As it was a good opportunity for amateur Baduk(GO) players in Jeollabuk-do to compete with great players from other countries, we did our best to have the competition in good faith.”

Jeollabuk-do actively promotes and maintains strong relationship through exchanges in various fields with China, which is geographically and culturally close.
